What is Hyperpigmentation?

What Causes Hyperpigmentation?

Skin injuries and inflammation can lead to a specific type of hyperpigmentation called chloasma, while hormonal changes can also trigger melasma, known as the “mask of pregnancy”. These two types of hyperpigmentation can be difficult to treat because they come in patches of discoloration, not spots.
