How to Multi-Task 4 Ways With a Foundation Stick
You should know by now that we love products that multi-task. Foundation
This is probably the most obvious use, since ‘foundation’ is in the title, but if you’ve never used a foundation stick before, it can be a little intimidating. To apply, gently swipe the product directly onto the skin. For sheer coverage, just a few swipes will do on the forehead, cheeks, chin and nose; for fuller coverage, apply additional product. Blend with your favorite face brush; we love Angled Complexion Brush or Dual Fiber Cheek Brush and you’re good to go!
Concealer
If foundation is the most obvious use, then concealer is the easiest use, especially since it requires the same shade as your foundation! Using clean fingertips, apply additional product to any blemishes or areas requiring additional coverage; tap your finger to blend. If you’d rather use a brush, we love Full Coverage Camouflage Brush or Dual Foundation/Camouflage Brush to help apply and blend.
Contour
If you're someone who likes to contour, but feels like they don’t have the time, contouring with a stick is going to change your whole routine. For this use, you’ll need to select a shade 1-2 levels deeper than your foundation shade. Swipe to apply product where you want to add depth, warmth and definition, like the hollows of cheeks, hairline, sides of nose and jawline. Blend until the product melts seamlessly into your skin. Highlight
Similar to contouring, if you’re looking for a quick and easy highlight, simply select a shade 1-2 levels lighter than your foundation shade and apply to the areas you wish to brighten, like middle of forehead, brow bones, upper cheekbones, down the center of nose and chin and on bow of lip. Blend with a small, fluffy brush like Dual Fiber Eye Brush for expert precision. Using HD Mineral Foundation Stick to highlight will give you a natural brightening effect, but it will not add shimmer or a dewy glow. If you’re looking for a true shimmer highlight, we recommend Contour Kit, Shimmer Brick, or Barrier Balm applied on top of your HD Mineral Foundation Stick application.
