Warm Summer Makeup Tutorial

Pair a warm, bronzed complexion with a defined brow and statement lip, and you have yourself a perfect summer makeup look. We love a neutral bronzed glow, but it’s hard to resist adding a pop of color to the lips to shake things up. Hot pink, fuchsia and red are just a few of our favorite lip shades for the summer season.

Jen Clark, in-house makeup artist for Cosmedica in Victoria, British Columbia, used glo minerals to create this Spanish-inspired makeup look, seen in the April/May 2016 issue of Boulevard Magazine. Jen is sharing what products she used to create this warm, summer glow. Ruffles, lace detail and a Mediterranean color palette of terracotta, copper and red were the inspiration for the photoshoot, so this look has us daydreaming of vacationing by the sea.

Foundation

1. Use Pressed Base for sheer to full, semi-matte coverage.

Eyes

1. Apply a layer of Eye Shadow in water lily to the lid.
2. Blend limited edition Cream Bronze in warmth through the crease.
3. For a light highlight on the brow bone, use the shimmer highlight shade from the Contour Kit in fair to light. The Contour Kit is incredibly versatile because the powders can be used on the face or eyes.
4. Add Jeweled Eye Pencil in fizz to the inner corners.
5. Line the lower lashline with Precise Micro Eyeliner in charcoal. Using grey instead of black creates soft definition.
6. Coat the upper and lower lashes with Lash Lengthening Mascara in black.

Brows

1. Use the Brow Quad or Brow Powder Duo to custom blend your perfect brow shade.

Cheeks

1. Apply Cream Blush in guava to the center of the apples of the cheeks.
2. Lightly layer with Blush in sweet to set the cream.
3. Warm up the complexion with Cream Bronze in warmth. Apply to the cheekbones and jawline for a chiseled look, and add a little color to the hairline where the sun hits, thoroughly blending as you go.
4. Add a glowing highlight to the tops of the cheeks with the shimmer highlight shade from the Contour Kit in fair to light.

Lips

1. For a fun, playful summer red, look for shades with an orange undertone. Apply Suede Matte Crayon in crush to the lips.
2. Add a layer of Cream Glaze Crayon in jetset, a perfect pair for crush, for a glossy finish.

To set the look, Jen added a light misting of Moist Hydration Mist.
